The IPVS is initiated by the International Pig Veterinary Society and takes place every two years, rotating between America, Asia, and Europe. The ESPHM is organized by the European College of Porcine Health Management and the European Association of Porcine Health Management, occurring annually in Europe.
The European Symposium of Porcine Health Management (ESPHM) gathers pig veterinarians from across Europe each year in a different country. It first took place in Copenhagen, Denmark, in 2009. Since then, the event has continuously grown, with the last edition hosting over 1,500 participants in Barcelona, Spain.
