Andrea Manica is the new CTO of SAN Group
Andrea Manica (39) is the new Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of SAN Group. The senior scientist takes over this position at the beginning of January 2022, and as of now is responsible for the Research and Development unit of SAN Group.
Andrea Manica originally comes from Italy, is a senior scientist and starting now is responsible for the Research and Development unit of SAN Group. He studied molecular biology and focused on the global expansion of existing research fields and the development of new ones. “We know Andrea and his way of working very well, because he has been working for Erich Erber for many years. He brings with him the perfect combination of expertise and personal qualifications,” says Kai Lie Stacher, Chief Human Resources Manager of SAN Group.
After completing his bachelor’s in the biotechnology of plant science and a master’s in the biotechnology of food science, both at the University of Padua, Italy, he did his PhD in molecular biotechnology at the University of Vienna. After his studies, he worked for Sandoz, Biomin, Boehringer Ingelheim, and Kwizda with focuses on microbiology, fermentation technology, probiotics, bioprocessing technology, and scientific project management. He is also a lecturer at the Biotechcampus Tulln of the University of Applied Sciences Wiener Neustadt in Lower Austria. Manica has been living in Vienna, Austria since 2016.
